If you're reading this, you're probably a Rails developer who's tired of the same frustrating cycle: you write clean, well-tested code, your app works beautifully... and then you look at the UI and cringe.

I've been there. More times than I'd like to admit.

For the past 8+ years, I've been teaching web design and development through video courses. I've helped thousands of developers build better products. But here's the thing I kept seeing over and over: Rails developers are incredible at building functionality, but most of us didn't get into this to become designers.

We'd reach for Bootstrap (dated), copy random Tailwind snippets from the internet (inconsistent), or hire designers (expensive and slow). None of it felt right for the Rails way of building things.

And then there's the UI kit problem. You buy a popular component library, spend hours integrating it, and launch your app, only to realize it looks exactly like a dozen other sites you've seen. You can spot a Tailwind UI site from a mile away. Same cards, same dashboards, same "unique" landing pages. Your product ends up looking like everyone else's homework assignment.

That problem only got bigger with AI. It scaffolds a working app in an afternoon, but it writes one screen at a time and skips the parts that make a product feel real: onboarding, billing, empty states, settings, email. The code runs, and the app still looks like a prototype. That gap is the whole reason Rails UI exists.

So I built what I wished existed
